Large-Scale Custom Tai Chi Bagua Stone Column (15 Tons) – Precision Fabrication Project
From a complex fabrication challenge to a precise delivery, achieving a 15-ton custom column within 5mm tolerance.
Project Overview
This project involved a large custom Feng Shui stone column, approximately 2.7m in height and 1.5m in diameter.
Challenge
The column was made from two different materials (G603 and Indian Black), which have different hardness levels.
The large size and weight (around 15 tons) made fabrication highly complex, especially in maintaining accuracy and structural stability.
Our Approach
Prototype Testing
Before full production, we created a handmade prototype to test the material combination and fabrication method.
On-site Coordination
We made multiple visits to the factory in Chongwu, working closely with the factory manager to adjust the processing technique.
Process Optimization
Different fabrication methods were tested and refined to handle the material differences and ensure a stable structure.
Result
The column was successfully completed and delivered, meeting both design and technical requirements.
Most importantly, the final diameter tolerance was controlled within 5mm, meeting the client’s strict precision requirement.This level of precision required multiple adjustments and close coordination during production.
